Mr. Penhallegon’s “in-court” (litigation) practice includes representing clients in a wide range of business, commercial and real estate disputes including theft (misappropriation) of trade secrets, corporate governance and partnership disputes, disputes involving real property, and disputes arising from complex financial transactions and/or financial insolvency. Mr. Penhallegon has tried or arbitrated numerous cases, participated in countless mediations, and has considerable experience dealing with partnership disputes and matters involving financial insolvency.

Mr. Penhallegon’s “out of court” (transactional) practice includes mergers and acquisitions, business formations and corporate governance, commercial leasing, and real estate and commercial transactions. Mr. Penhallegon frequently serves as outside general counsel to companies whom he advises on corporate, real estate and commercial law matters. Mr. Penhallegon’s experience includes negotiating and drafting a wide range of contracts and business agreements, including stock purchase agreements and purchase and sale agreements, shareholder agreements, vendor contracts, commercial leases, loan and financing agreements, and employment related agreements.

Prior to joining SLG, Mr. Penhallegon worked at a boutique business bankruptcy firm where he focused on complex financial restructuring, commercial litigation, and corporate and real estate law matters. Mr. Penhallegon started his career at a law firm specializing in real estate and construction law where he focused on representing owners and developers in a wide range of business, real estate, and construction law matters. Mr. Penhallegon is a member of both the California and Washington State bars. Mr. Penhallegon is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Central YMCA of Silicon Valley and a member of the William A. Ingram Inns of Court.
