Jackie Ford's practice focuses on both employment law advising and litigation. She works with employers ranging from sole proprietors to publicly-traded corporations and understands that the needs of employers can vary drastically between locations, budgets, and industries. Her practice includes all aspects of employment law, including but not limited to wage & hour, harassment and discrimination issues, family and medical leave laws, confidentiality of trade secrets, and executive contracts.
By providing clear advice and drafting concise workplace policies, employment agreements, and employee handbooks, Jackie's goal is to keep her clients compliant with California's ever-changing employment laws. That way if her clients do find themselves in the midst of litigation, they will be in the strongest position possible to fight any adverse claims. Jackie is also a seasoned litigator who represents employers in state and federal court as well as at the Labor Commissioner's office.
Jackie's litigation background includes not just employment law but disputes related to commercial contracts, real estate, shareholder rights, and business torts. Jackie is experienced in all aspects of the litigation process, from pre-lawsuit negotiations, discovery, law and motion practice, mediation, settlement, arbitration, trial, and even appellate practice.
Jackie was selected for inclusion in the Northern California Rising Stars from 2016 to 2020. Only 2.5 percent of young lawyers in Northern California are selected each year.
Prior to joining Structure Law Group in 2014, Jackie was a litigation attorney at a well-established firm in Oakland, where her practice primarily focused on the defense of California Community Care Facilities. While a law student at Santa Clara University, Jackie volunteered as a Certified Law Clerk at the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office and at the Katherine and George Alexander Community Law Center's Workers' Rights clinic.
With two young kids, free time is hard to come by. But when she can, Jackie enjoys checking new travel destinations and local restaurants off her bucket list.
